BRINELL/PSI

This product has shown a resistance higher than 40N/mm2 (based on test EN 1534). Once converted into PSI the result is higher than 5800 PSI.

The Brinell scale characterizes the indentation hardness of materials through the scale of penetration of an indenter, loaded on a material test-piece. It is one of several definitions of hardness in materials science. The typical test uses a 10 mm (0.39 in) diameter steel ball as an indenter with a 3,000 kgf (29.42 kN; 6,614 lbf) force.

To test the product they build a chamber simulating a room in a multilevel apartment complex and install the product on top of it, over the ceiling as if it were the floor of the second story room. Inside the chamber, the room has a DMX subflooring underlayment and a 8 mm laminate floor, so it will behave like a real room and the tests are more accurate.
